about

I was inspired to write this song by the Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai who never gives up hope. She continuously sees the importance of humanity and seeks freedom for all peoples to live in peace from the brutal wars caused by the differences between their societies and religions.

lyrics

We are side by side
Hello, can you hear me?
From the other side of the ground

We are wise and sad
But you say your God isn’t mine
In the flowerful valley

Light and shadow
Impatient world, are you ready?
I’ve got to find a path taking me somewhere to be free

No fears nor triggers
A place on earth, are you there?
Is that a shattering sound
Or just a southern wind roaring
In your dreams
That you would never awaken

Like a hidden hope
My hands are catching raindrops
In the diminishing silence

I am standing here alone
In the sand and smoke
Reminiscing of you

Sky and meadow
Falling down right on me
I must have lost my wings flying out of here to be free

No sense nor reason
Just escalated wrecking
The sentiment drawn from the rising curved line
In your dreams
That you would never awaken
